Zorb-It Instructions
(For Constantly Humid Areas)

Before you read any further, kindly note that that an electrical dehumifier is always the most effective for maintaining humidity levels. A typical dehumifier of 15 litre capacity should cost about SGD$400 in the market and you are strongly recommended to purchase one if you wish to maintain your guitar optimally.

For users seeking a more economical solution, silicon packs are the most commonly used. Most of these have limited capacity to absorb excess moisture and will require frequent replacements. Other commercial drying agents with a larger capacity often work one-way, resulting in overly dry conditions which can be detrimental to your instrument.

Zorb-It packs can however be conditioned to serve as an economical long term solution. With a lifespan of 5 years (in an enclosed guitar case), replacements are barely needed. The Zorb-it pack works 2-way and is capable of releasing moisture if humidity is low.

If you reside in a constantly humid area, a "conditioning" process is required for Zorb-It to work to your advantage. Zorb-It works by keeping humidity levels at a long term daily average. You will thus need to "trick" Zorb-It into believing that daily humidity levels are much lower by keeping the Zorb-it pack in a dry area from time to time.

When your Zorb-It pack is adequately conditioned, the internal contents of Zorb-it will feel dry to touch (Similar to sugar found in your kitchen). The Zorb-it pack will typically last 3-4 months everytime you condition it depending on the seal of your hardcase and the humidity at your location.

A fair bit of deligence is required here. If you find your Zorb-It pack squishy to touch (A sign that the internal contents are wet), you will need to dry your Zorb-It again.

The following drying methods have been tested and proven to be effective at keeping humidity levels around 60%. DO NOT microwave.

1. Placing the Zorb-It pack in a dry box for a day.
2. Placing the Zorb-It pack with numerous packs of silicon gel in a ziplock bag for a few days.
3. Drying the Zorb-It pack using a dehumidifier for 8-12 hours.

For acoustic guitars, it is recommended that you place the Zorb-It pack below the bridge of the guitar for optimal performance. The proximity will help reduce buldging at the bridge of the guitar.

With some deligence, keeping your guitar relatively dry for optimal performance can be cost-effective with a Zorb-It pack!
